Gerbils as Pet

Gerbils are small mammals that have an average lifespan of 2-3 years. They are closely related to hamsters than any other rodents.Gerbils go through several cycle of sleep and active throughout all day. Also they are very active and social creatures so it is best to keep them in pairs or more. Their habits include jumping,climbing,gnawing and digging and unlike hamsters, gerbils gives out very less odour. like any other rodents,gerbils teeth are constantly growing so it is best to give them wooden toys to gnaw at so their teeth will not overgrown.Always remember never pick up a gerbil by its tail or it would break as the tails are pretty fragile.
